WDoR 2022

The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDR) is commemorated on the third Sunday of November each year.

WDoR 2022 puts the spotlight on JUSTICE.
Traffic law enforcement, thorough investigation after a crash to find out if a crime was committed and to prevent recurrence, criminal prosecution where appropriate and civil compensation are all part of the justice system. When carried out seriously, fairly and consistently, such a system is what road crash victims who have been injured or had a family member killed as the result of someone’s law–breaking or negligence deserve and wish for, since it also represents a main factor of prevention and this would mean that lessons are learnt from their tragedies so that they may not be repeated.

On 3rd Sunday of November 2022 RSP organized a joint event with other stakeholder including Road Authority, Traffic Police, National Road Safety Commission representative, EMS, Red Crescent, and victims families. At the #WDoR2022 event RSP CEO talked about the shortcomings of current Rehabilitation and victim support in Iran based on 2021-2030 Global Plan and other useful resources recommendations. He also tried to shed light on the reasons why the less deprived people are in a higher risk of being involved in a crash. Also we 25 victim families were invited  to talk directly to decision makers about their needs.
Ali Zayerzadeh laid stress one the fact that road crashes significantly affect the justice in the society and all should be aware that however the crash scene may look the end of the story for passer-by but it just a start of an endless bitterness for the victims and their families.
